Donna Summer - Thank God It's Friday

Donna Summer plays as Nikole Simms in a movie. I never saw this movie. The name of the movie is, "Thank God It's Friday". It's a great movie for disco music of the 70's. When Donna Summer takes over the mic at the club, that is my favorite part of the movie, although I haven't seen the rest of the movie yet. Donna Summer is a great actress, and I love it when she acts like a nerd and breaks out so so bad singing her hit, "Let's Dance".

Commodores_Still

When I was growing up, hearing this song sounded kind of sad to me. However, it was beautiful to me at the same time. When Lionel sung, "I do love you, still", it was complicated for me to sing. I would try to sing the chorus of those words, but the words were sung to deep for me.

Today when I hear the song, the words are very touching. The song has plenty of meaning. The song brings back old memories. It is a song that is always new to me. I never get tired of hearing it. I wish songs like this one were written today.

Narada Michael Walden_Tonight I'm Aright

Micahel Walden song, "Tonight I'm Alright" was played a lot on the radio between 1979 and 1980. However, it is not heard on the oldies station that I listen to today. There are a lot of oldies that could be played and are not. There are some oldies that are played to death. This is a song that I haven't heard since I was a child. Whenever I heard the lyrics, I could not understand the chorus very well. I thought he was saying A-B-C Call me tonight. Now, today I laugh at how way off I was with the lyrics. In the chorus, he was saying, "I know everything's gonna be alright. Said I'm gonna rock on tonight." When I wanted to ask my friends did they remember the song, I was too embarrassed to ask them because I did not really know the lyrics. I just remembered hearing the song. How did I find the song? I remembered the beginning words to the song.

Stephanie Mills Pilot Error

Clip From Video Pilot Error
Back in the 80's I loved hearing Stephanie Mills. She made some great hits. Pilot Error was a great dance beat tune.

Pilot Error

You are lost, you've been bouncing off the high roof tops
On a plane to disaster
You will crash, I was thinking about it as you passed my way
You will drop if you cannot turn the engine prop
Then you're really in danger
So I stand, though I'd like to make your landing safe, okay
Lots of runway, room to spare
Trouble due to pilot error
Approach is good, they've cleared the air
Trouble due to pilot error.......

Lisa Stansfield and Barry White

Clip From Video

I don't know what made Lisa Stansfield and Barry White get together to sing this song. It is nice hearing them sing All Around the World together. I never knew that they sung this song together. It might would have been a bigger hit if Barry and Lisa had done the song together on record. However, it is a nice song anyway and was a nice hit. I still love hearing it. Lisa did a great job.

Sheila E: The Beat Goes On

 Channel

In this video, Sheila E. tells a story I knew nothing about. I'm glad to see Sheila helping others with music. I'm glad that the beat goes on like Sheila. Suddenly, I did not hear anything about Sheila after the movie she played in, Krush Groove. I often wondered where she went and what she was doing. Then I heard that she had became a Christian, and she has a website. Then I thought to myself that Sheila's doing alright.

America - Lonely People

Google Image

So many times I have felt lonely and still do. At work, I feel lonely. At home, I feel lonely. In town, I feel lonely. I know what is needed, and I know what is missing. I once had genuine love in my life from a human being, and I don't have that love anymore. That love was taken from me to heaven.

One night, I dreamed this song after I had long forgotten it. The harmonica sounded so good. The genuine love that I had taught me this song, and I guess that genuine love sent it to me to remember through the angels. They are great messengers sending good messages. I believe they pay attention to some of our meaningful earthly songs.

"If I Can't Have You" What the Lyrics Mean to Me

Yvonne Elliman
When Yvonne Elliman was singing "If I Can't Have You" in the 70's, looking into my mother's eyes as a child, I didn't think about how I would some day loose her. In 2001, my mother was to suppose to have been dying from breast cancer. I thought about the part that Yvonne sung: Am I strong enough to see it through? I'll go crazy is what I will do. If I can't have you, I don't want nobody...." And I don't want nobody. I thought I would go crazy when my mother died, but I didn't. So far I haven't. I guess I was, and still is thanks to God, strong enough to see it through. When Yvonne sings, "I don't know why I'm surviving every lonely day", I know why. It is God that makes me survive. Though my life has not ended, it seems a part of me is dead. However, I keep on moving on. I keep on living and striving without my mother.
