When I was a little girl, I would wake up in the mornings hearing the radio on in the dinning room. It was during the summer when my mother was already up doing housework, and I was still in bed. In my sleep, I would hear, "Silly Love Songs", playing in my dreams by Paul McCartney. When I would wake up and see the sunshine, the song would be playing on the radio. I always loved this song.

Stevie Wonder_I Ain't Gonna Stand For It

 I remember when my Aunt Niecy use to sing this song by Stevie Wonder. She could sing and act just like him. Aunt Niecy was always clowning. She was the best dancer and best singer that I had ever seen. Aunt Niecy was so entertaining. Those were the good old days.

The Meaning of "Off The Wall"

There are millions of people that probably could relate to Michael Jackson’s song, “Off the Wall”. We all want to leave that 9 to 5 upon the shelf. However, it’s not 9 to 5 for many of us anymore. We spend our lives working, going home, paying bills, and buying groceries, but we never really enjoy life. When we get from behind the wall of the work world, we are like kindergarteners. We are bursting with energy to get away from it. Guys and girls turn up the music in their cars racing from the parking lot to go home. Michael Jackson told us in his lyrics, “Let the madness in the music get to you. Life ain’t so bad at all if you live it off the wall.”


Michael Jackson also said that living crazy is the only way. Well, I wouldn’t live crazy high on drugs and alcohol, but living crazy just having fun is the best kind of living and fun. Some get crazy at the night clubs on the dance floor, some get crazy playing card games, and some get crazy at cook outs in family time. What ever the fun may be, we need to do it in a good and right way. We need to live and be happy. It’s okay to act crazy but sane with it.

When it comes to the Bee Gees, I don't know anyone who didn't love them. I considered them as soul singers when I was growing up in the 70's. When I was a little girl, I use to say to my mother, "Mama, that lead singer looks like Jesus."

Run DMC and Aerosmith

In 1986, Run DMC and Aerosmith joined together to make a hip hop record. Mixing hip hop and music that is rock was something very new to me. Because of the beat, I liked the song from the very beginning. It was Aerosmith's Walk This Way along with Run DMC. I got a kick out of watching the video on MTV.  Both groups were trying to practice their music, and Run DMC kept throwing in their turn table scratch sounds as the rock group played the guitar. I thought the whole thing was awesome. It was a song put together that made both hip hop lovers and rock lovers both listen.

Doobie Brothers - Listen To The Music

For some reason, I loved hearing this song when I was growning up. I was shocked to learn that it was the Doobie Brothers.
